Monday Morning Message
Week of August 30th through September 3rd

Peace Rules

Each week Saint Mary School will concentrate on one of the Peace Rules as we strive to live our school motto, "We Walk With Jesus." We ask each family to help us by discussing this rule at home to help our students understand the importance of having peace and tolerance toward all as "We Walk With Jesus."

Week 1: We Cooperate Constructively.
Week 2: We Speak Respectfully.
Week 3: We Listen With an Open Mind.

Extra Helping $1.00

After School Pickup
Effective Monday, August 30th

Monday, August 30th, will be the first day for outside pickup for the entire school. Please consult your Parent Handbook for the proper procedures.
  1. All families are asked to display their car tags on the dashboard of their cars for all carpool lines to facilitate the process for our staff.
  2. K3 and K4 will begin dismissal at 2:30 p.m. for those who do not have older siblings in the school. Please enter the parking lot according to the diagram found in your Parent Handbook. There will be two lines. The one closest to the church is for HOV (High Occupancy Vehicles) families who have three or more students and the one closest to the median will be for the families of K3 - K4 students. The teachers will bring the students to the front of the cafeteria and load the students into the cars. Parents are asked to remain in their cars.
  3. HOV (High Occupancy Vehicles) lane will form directly in front of the church for families who are picking up three or more students. Parents are asked to pull up in front of the church and form a line behind the cones as shown on the diagram found in your Parent Handbook. Staff members will direct them when it is time to move in front of the cafeteria for pickup.
  4. For families with students in grades 1-4 (also those who have K3- K5 siblings), the carpool will operate by the center car lines. Car lines will form in the middle lanes. For all new families, please follow the other cars and we will have staff available to direct you for the first few days. Mrs. Hurst will call your name and the students will meet you at the designated numbers. Please do not get out of your cars. The staff members will load the students into their cars.
  5. For families with students in only grades 5-8, students will be picked up in front of the school office.
  6. All 8th grade students and their siblings will be picked up in front of the school office. This is an 8th grade privilege.
  7. Students will not be dismissed from the office after carpool has begun.
  8. No child will be dismissed to parents who are not in the carpool lines until the end of carpool. Do not leave your car to get your student.

The most important ingredient is PATIENCE from all as we work through this procedure. This dismissal process is tried and true. It requires everyone to cooperate for it to work. Bring your rosary. It is a great thing to do during the dismissal process.
